Information about online services (NHS App, etc)

Contact us online using Patient Triage

You will not be able to use this service at weekends or after 5pm weekdays. Instead use www.111.nhs.uk or call 111 where help can be given in a more timely manner.

Please note: Non urgent administrative issues will be dealt with within 5-10 working days, please do not call the practice to chase these up until after this time.

You can use Patient Triage to order repeat medication - but we recommend that you use the NHS app or your current online system instead.

Patient Triage and Sending Photographs
At St John’s Way Medical Centre we are currently using Accurx text messaging service and Patient Triage, please be reassured that if you send a photograph to us using these methods, it will be stored securely on your medical record and will not be shared without your permission.

The NHS App

Signing up to online access will give you the option of being able to book appointments online, requesting medication and access medical records (this is completely customisable).

This can be done through the NHS app and your ID checks will be done online, please see the images below for the play store and apple store

Online Proxy Access

This is where someone is given access to another person’s online access. For example:

  • A parent or guardian who has legal responsibility for a patient under 11
  • A parent or guardian where a patient aged 11 or over has given permission
  • A parent or guardian who has legal responsibility for a patient between 11 and 16 where GP has assessed that the patient is not capable of making their own decisions re medical health
  • A carer for a patient over the age of 16 – we would need a letter from the patient giving them permission

To register for proxy online access, please download the proxy online access form below and ensure you read it thoroughly and understand the importance and responsibility of being able to access someone else’s medical records.

Then please print off the form and once completed, please bring to the surgery with THE REPRESENTATIVE’S photo ID either passport or driver’s licence. We must verify photo ID in person at the surgery.

Any patient over the age of 11 must sign the online access proxy form.

You will need one form per user for example if you have 2 children you will need 2 forms.

Proxy online registrations are accepted between 2pm and 5pm Monday to Friday.
